Tihei Rimurimu | Te Ūpoko o Te Ika | English Subtitles

Puta ki tai, puta ki taiao e! Do you know that there’s seaweed in ice cream? Do you also know that rimurimu can grow up to one meter a day? These are some of the superpowers of rimurimu being explored - as kai, fertiliser, cosmetics, and as a means of combating climate change - in this pilot project in Wellington, alongside Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngā Mokopuna. Project Rimurimu is an enabler, supporting kaiako and tauira to explore their backyards, connect to local kōrero, and taonga tuku iho, and provide career pathways for Māori scientists now, and into the future. I mōhio rānei koe he pia rimurimu i roto i te aihikirīmi? Kia Tau

We are in a time of a major transition, and many are stressed by what is going on around us and in the world. You may find yourself questioning your power or feeling uncertain about your future. At this time it is important to turn inward, to be still and listen. “Who am I? Who do I want to become?” This short film encourages us to connect with the beauty of our natural world… to give us hope, and awaken the incredible healing power that lies inside us. May it guide us at precisely the right time to calm ourselves and journey inward. Then you will know what to do if you find yourself stressed or suffering - you will know that you have everything you need within. Te Noho Taiao o Te Rarawa | Korou Kore Marae | English Subtitles

Tiakina te taiao - tiakina te iwi e! Celebrating the 11th Noho Taiao o Te Rarawa, this is a partnership event run by Te Rarawa Anga Mua, Te Aho Tū Roa and other local community groups. The main aims of this four-day hands-on learning intensive were to strengthen whanaungatanga (connectedness), to give rangatahi a positive experience of pūtaiao (science with mātauranga Māori) and to connect them to their people and local environment. He huihuinga rangatahi e whakakotahi ai i ngā uri o Te Rarawa whānui me te tūhonohono i a rātou ki ngā marae o tō rātou rohe pōtae. Kaikāmera / Kaiwāwāhi: Uenukuterangihoka Jefferies He kiriata tēnei i hangaia e Te Aho Tū Roa.

Te Rarawa Anga Mua in partnership with Te Aho Tū Roa (Toimata Foundation) are honoured to be supporting Waiparera Marae host their first 'Mauri Ora Mai Tawhito Wānanga' at Waiparera Marae, Te Rangi on the 22rd-24th November 2019. "Whakapapa is the sacred strand that interweaves the life force of all creation”. With this realisation came the understanding that many of the solutions required for our current social and economic climate can be found within the experiences and inter-generational Māori matauranga (knowledge) of our elders transferred or passed down over time. One of the main outcomes of this wānanga is that it will re-ignite a spark, or energy to take back to our marae, getting people to understand mauri – understand the greatness of what is within themselves.
